After two months of daily riding, here’s my detailed take on the Mahle display unit and its handlebar mount: App-Only Promise vs. Reality Legend advertises that you can ride using only the smartphone app, but in practice the Mahle app is unstable, sluggish, and fails to connect about 90 % of the time. This forces you to buy the physical display kit, negating the “app-only” convenience. Hardware & Build Quality The plastic display housing and the plastic mount feel fragile, lightweight and with no reinforcement. There is no locking mechanism against theft: a simple person can detach the unit, making it extremely vulnerable to theft. Power & Backlight Runs on a single CR2032 coin cell; the supplied battery rarely lasts more than three weeks. No backlighting at all, so the screen is nearly unreadable in low-light conditions or direct sun glare. Why is it not built to be integrated directly to the bike battery, I don't know it feels really stupid (same for the lights btw). Boot-Up & Shut-Down Performance Power-on takes about 1 seconds after pressing the handlebar control, otherwise expect to often reprogram the computer. shutting down the display is manual and takes up to 6 seconds and add to that the handelbar control shutdown itself. There is no auto-sleep or low-power standby mode, so you must remember to power it off every time, or the battery drains. Bluetooth Latency & Data Accuracy Noticeable lag between the thumb-pad commands and the screen response through Bluetooth. Battery percentage and range estimates are wildly inaccurate, often jumping by 10–20 % without warning. Installation & Adjustability The mount clamps around the handlebar, requiring careful torqueing: too loose risks rotation, too tight risks cracking either the mount or the bar. Cost vs. Value Sold as an optional accessory, the combined price of display + mount feels excessive given the build quality and functionality. You end up paying a premium for what amounts to an unreliable and sometimes dangerous gadget (due to the laggy response). Bottom Line: The Mahle on-board computer and plastic mount feel tacked-on rather than integrated. Between the temperamental app, weak battery life, slow response times, and flimsy hardware, this setup is more of a headache than a helpful tool. If you rely on it for range info or control, be prepared for frequent frustrations or plan to replace it with a more robust third-party display, but oh no the whole bike is standardized on Mahle features.

Compacto, muito fácil de utilizar e bastante conveniente. É um dispositivo caro, mas acaba por compensar bastante porque substitui a utilização do telemóvel. Toda a informação relevante aparece no ecrã: velocidade atual, nível de ajuda elétrica, carga da bateria, hora, estado de várias componentes da bicicleta... há também uma área do ecrã que permite selecionar entre tempo total de utilização, quilómetros totais, quilómetros parciais, percentagem de apoio elétrico e velocidade média. É extremamente fácil de montar e utilizar, e tem um encaixe simples que permite remover o dispositivo da base que fica presa à bicicleta. A ligação por bluetooth demora meros segundos e desliga-se automaticamente quando se desconecta da bicicleta. Pela negativa, além do preço elevado, não tem bateria própria, é exclusivamente alimentado com uma pilha CR-2032, e apesar de usar pouca carga, é inconveniente não ter a possibilidade de recarregar. Também não tem retroiluminação, o que dificulta a utilização noturna. Não é impossível porque o ecrã é simples e tem um bom contraste, mas devia pelo menos haver essa escolha.

Je viens de passer au vélo de route électrique et cette console est exactement ce que recherchais pour augmenter le confort de la conduite.
